I have been collecting postcards and encouraging snail mail as much as possible. I try to get one where ever I go somewhere. But the catch, I try to find either the most boring one, or the most ridiculous, obnoxious one. So when a couple friends showed me these books, I went wild. Martin Parr's is only $3.50 used!

Amazon Kindle
Even if I had the money right now I wouldn't buy one. But, as technology advances, this little diddy is going to change everything.
But I am most definitely torn. I love turning pages and actually holding books. And what about photography? This will probably ruin the collecting of photography books, but I will still hold on.
What about the trees?!?

Some problems I can see with the Kindle:
- Lets get this puppy in color. Who doesn't want color images when reading the morning news?
- Backlight. I would like to read in the dark too guys.
- Can you enlarge the text? What if the writing is too small?
- Cost effectiveness of ordering the paper via kindle?

Back to the ROC
So over two thousand miles, more than six tanks of gas, endless bathroom stops and group pictures, we made it back alive. We roughly estimated over thirty hours spent in the car. For the most of it we listened to music over three ipods. We definitely were getting to a point of reaching out on limbs to listen to music we had not already listened too. I introduced Meron and Nick to the powers of This American Life. I saw the derrrty south at it finest and darkest. Racism is alive and (not) well. But there is also something intruging about the people and lifestyle. At some point in my life I will spend more time in these areas. You wait and see.
My only regret? I didn't take enough photographs. But hey, thats what road trips are for.
PS. Cant wait until Spring Break 2010

Sonic's
Meron and I couldn't figure out how you were supposed to order at Sonic Burgers in Conway, South Carolina. Apparently you are supposed to drive up really close to the curb and order at that box, and then they bring your food to you. Its like a drive through except, more like park through. We felt pretty dumb sitting on top of the car ordering while everyone else ordering from inside their cars watched us.

Atlantic Beach
833 miles from Rochester. and it feels like every inch of it.
75 degrees and breezy. It is amazing to be back in this weather.
Being so far from it you forget how good it feels.
South Carolina
South of the Border, rest stop/camp ground/gas station/fireworks/leather store/amusement park pretty much has it all. If you ever pass it on I95 in Dillion, South Carolina you must stop. Blew our minds. I should have bought that hat for $6.99

Our friend Sully got us tickets to a North Carolina vs Boston College basketball game. I guess college basketball isn't so bad afterall. Someone tell me how the lakers are doing.
